‶リビング” から ‶ダイニング・キッチン” へ
今でこそ様々な句が外国語に翻訳される機会が多くなったが、川雀さんの最初の対訳句集『天平の落書』は、かつて俳句の ‶リビング″へ外国の友人を招待するという画期的な試みであった。
それから15年、『俳句 その風景』は、俳句の心をより正しく伝達し、深いもてなしの心で、友人を彼の ‶ダイニング・キッチン″へ招くという、さらに一歩進めた企画である。彼をよく理解する信代さんの支えが大きいことは言うまでもあるまい。（行方克巳）
From the “Living Room” to the “Dining Kitchen”
Nowadays, there are many opportunities to translate various haiku into a foreign language, but Senjaku’s first bilingual collection, “ Graffity of Tenpyou” was an epoch-making attempt to invite foreign friends to his “Living Room”. Fifteen years since then, “ Scenery of the Haiku” is a project that goes a step further, inviting friends to his “Dining Kitchen” with a deeper hospitality that conveys the heart of haiku even more.It goes without saying that Nobuyo, who understands him well, has supported his project greatly. （Katsumi Namekata）

盆提灯点れるところより暮るる
季語は「盆提灯」で秋。秋の初め頃、各地で死者の霊を迎える盆の行事が行われる。家々の玄関には死者への道標として提灯が吊るされる。次第に日が暮れ、町に夕闇が迫るころ、提灯に灯が点される。普通は提灯が灯ったところが明るくなるものだが、提灯の点る辺りから暮れ始めるように作者は感じた。灯がともることで、対比的に周りがより暗く見えるからであろう。

the BON-CHOUCHIN becomes darker
The seasonal word is “BON-CHOUCHIN”of fall. They are lanterns that are lit during the BON event. Around the beginning of autumn, BON events are held in various places to welcome the spirit of the dead. Lanterns are hung at the entrances of the houses as a guide to the dead soul. As the sun goes down and the dusk approaches, the lanterns are lit. Normally, the place where the lanterns light up becomes brighter, but the author felt that other way. The surroundings appear darker by contrast with the lantern light.

原 川雀（はら せんじゃく）
1945年9月、大阪府生まれ。1990年頃、西村和子氏の指導を受ける（かずのこ会）。1996年、俳句雑誌「知音」創刊に参加、行方克己・西村和子両代表に師事。現在、「知音」同人。著書に、第一句集『風の影』、第二句集『青丹よし』、他に対訳句集『天平の落書』（内村信代との共著、私家版）がある。国際俳句交流協会会員。

内村信代（うちむら のぶよ）
1972年5月、神奈川県生まれ。1995年3月、東京外国語大学外国語学部英米語学科卒。小学校の5年間を米国ニューヨーク、ワシントンで過ごす。現在、横浜市立サイエンスフロンテイア高校英語科教諭、併せて学生のための国際化プロジェクト担当として、米国スタンフォード大学、ＵＣバークレイ校他との交流を推進。対訳句集『天平の落書』（原川雀との共著）の英訳を担当。
